Ayrton Senna’s slick tyre from Donington 1993 that my great uncle owns. (Second one reads "For racing purposes only. Not for highway use.")
Donington 1993 Ayrton Senna started from 4th on the grid, only to quickly overtake everyone in front to dominate and swiftly win the race.
This was before the tyre war, and this man would go around to all the garages after the race and buy up some of their tyres. He’d then clean them up a little bit, but a glass slab on it and sold them as coffee tables. My great uncle originally bought a Patrese one, but gave it too his friend and managed to get the last Senna tyre available.
I hope to be inheriting this one day….
